Men's Basketball stumbles at Capital

The Muskingum men's basketball team dropped a key Ohio Athletic Conference game at Capital on Wednesday night, 95-74.

With the loss, Muskingum now stands at 6-16 overall and 3-12 in the OAC. The Muskies sit in ninth place in the league and trail eighth place by one game. The top eight teams at the end of the OAC regular season advance to the OAC Tournament. Muskingum next plays at Ohio Northern on Saturday, February 14. Game time is slated for 3:00 p.m.

Junior Christian Keller led the team against the Crusaders with a game-high 21 points on 7-of-9 shooting from the field, which included hitting six three-point shots.

Senior Logan Kimble added 11 points and three rebounds. He now has scored 1,011 points during his Muskie tenure.

Junior Cody Seiler chipped in 10 points and four boards, while sophomore Teryn Jarrett had nine points on 3-of-3 three shooting from behind the arc.

The Muskies ended the contest shooting .500 (25-of-50) from the field.

Capital (6-16, 4-11) was paced by Curt Geise who scored 18 points. Daniel Ocke added 16 points and AJ Dixon had 15 points.

The Crusaders shot .600 (33-of-55) from the floor and had a 48-22 edge in bench points.

Muskingum entered the break down 42-41 following Keller's three-pointer at the buzzer.

Capital used a big second half to secure the win. The Crusaders outscored the Muskies 53-33 during the final 20 minutes.
