Muskies drop physical battle vs. Wilmington

The Muskingum men's basketball team dropped a physical battle against Wilmington on Wednesday, 84-74.

The feisty affair featured 43 fouls and a pair of technical fouls. The nature of play brought the Black & Magenta fans screaming to their feet throughout the 40-minute game.

Muskingum senior Dave Brown and junior Logan Kimble led the team with 20 points each.

Brown tied the school record for free throw shooting percentage in a game with his 14-of-14 effort, which extended his current free throws made streak to 35.

Kimble connected on 7-of-12 from the field and added nine rebounds and four steals.

Sophomore Cody Seiler had 12 points and six rebounds.

The Muskies ended the game shooting .463 (25-of-54) from the field and held a 32-28 edge in rebounds.

Wilmington (10-6, 8-3) was led by R.J. Leppert's 20-point, seven-rebound night. Dwight Johnson aided the Quaker effort with 15 points.

Wilmington shot .531 (26-of-49) from the floor and held a 36-19 advantage in bench points.

Muskingum next travels to John Carroll on Saturday, February 1. Game time is slated for 2:00 p.m.
