Brown erupts for career-high in win at Kenyon

Muskingum senior Dave Brown scored a career-high 36 points to lead the men's basketball team past Kenyon on Saturday afternoon, 82-80.

With the win, Muskingum moves to 2-0 overall. Muskingum next hosts Washington & Jefferson on Saturday, November 30. Game time is slated for 3:00 p.m.

Brown's career-best effort was also highlighted by tying the Muskingum record for best free throw shooting percentage in a game with his 16-of-16 performance from the charity stripe. He ended the outing hitting 7-of-13 from the field, including making 6-of-9 three-point shots.

Junior Logan Kimble aided the win with a 21-point, six-rebound, four-steal game. Sophomore Christian Keller scored 12 points with two assists, while sophomore Cody Seiler registered six boards.

Brian Lebowitz led Kenyon with 18 points, 12 rebounds, four blocks and four assists. Ikenna Nwadibia added 16 points and 10 rebounds for the Lords.

The first half was an even affair that saw Muskingum and Kenyon head into the break tied 36-36.

In the second half, the battle remained even with neither team gaining more than a two possession advantage. The Muskies took the lead for good in the final two minutes on a pair of Brown free throws. Kenyon had a chance to tie the game at the buzzer but Lebowitz's layup at the horn was waved off.
