Football announces postseason Team Awards

Muskingum Football Head Coach Erik Ieuter has announced 13 postseason awards that were presented to 10 student-athletes on the team. Team members voted on the awards.

Senior quarterback Doug Crawford was named the Bill "Cannonball" Cooper Offensive Player of the Year and the Team MVP. Crawford set the school record for passing yards (511) and total offense in a game (576) to lead the Muskies to a thrilling Senior Day win against Wilmington. He ended the year throwing for 2,280 yards (second most in school history) and 18 touchdowns, adding 352 yards rushing and 10 touchdowns on the ground. Crawford capped off his final year, setting the school record for total offense in a season with 2,639 yards.

Sophomore running back Donald Francis was named the team's Offensive Back of the Year. Francis led the Muskies with 463 yards rushing with three touchdowns. He averaged 4.9 yards per carry and ran for a career-high 117 yards against Baldwin Wallace.

Senior receiver Ja'Lin Goodman was recognized as the Special Teams Player of the Year. Goodman tied the school record for longest kickoff return for a touchdown with his highlight reel 98-yard score against Ohio Northern. For the season, Goodman averaged 25.9 yards per return. 

Senior offensive lineman Kamari Hill was honored with the Offensive Lineman of the Year award. Hill anchored the line and helped the Muskies lead the Ohio Athletic Conference in time of possession and paved the way for the offense to average 26.3 points and 365.7 yards per game. 

Sophomore linebacker Conner Gurney was named the Defensive Player of the Year and earned the Iron Man Award. Gurney led the team with 73 tackles, including 46 solo stops. He also recorded 12 tackles for loss for 40 yards and two sacks. 

Junior defensive lineman Toleo Malone was named Defensive Lineman of the Year. Malone was third on the team with 59 tackles and had a team-high 14 tackles for loss for 72 yards and four sacks.

Senior defensive back Qwestin Litz was named the Defensive Back of the Year award for his stellar play in Muskingum's secondary. Litz had 50 hits, seven pass breakups, and one interception.

Muskingum's Freshman of the Year award was given to linebacker Ekyri Williams after he posted 46 tackles this season. He also added two pass breakups and 1.5 tackles for loss.

Freshman wide receiver Ta'Ron Hill was named the Offensive Scout Player of the Year.

Sophomore linebacker JD Schmidt was honored with the Defensive Scout Player of the Year and Muskie Award honors.
