Edmondson, Murphy, and Willforth named Players to Watch in the OAC

Muskingum senior wide receiver Zuri Edmondson, sophomore defensive back Antwan Murphy, and junior linebacker Austin Willforth were named to the Players to Watch List for the 2023 Ohio Athletic Conference football season.

Edmondson enters the year with 1,741 career receiving yards, and 118 total receptions, and has tallied 15 receiving touchdowns. Edmondson currently holds the record for most receiving yards in a game at 266 and is tied for most touchdown receptions in a game with three. Edmondson also earned All-OAC First Team in the 2022 campaign. 

Murphy comes off his first year, where he tallied 52 total tackles, including 3.5 tackles for loss and one sack. He had a game-high of eight total tackles in a win on the road against Wilmington. Murphy earned All-OAC Honorable Mention in his first season as a Muskie.

Willforth enters his third year with 135 total tackles in his career, including 2.5 sacks and 11.5 tackles for loss. He tallied a career-high 15 tackles against Ohio Northern in a 23-7 win. Willforth comes off a 2022 campaign where he received OAC Defensive Player of the Week accolades and earned All-OAC Second Team honors. 

Muskingum kicks off their season at home, in the Bullock Health and Wellness Complex, against Ferrum on Saturday, September 2, at 1:00 PM.
