Malone and Burch named to CSC Academic All-District Team

Sophomore defensive lineman Toleo Malone and sophomore defensive back Cole Burch have been named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team for their outstanding performance both on the field and in the classroom this year.

Malone, an Athletics Communication major, started all 10 games for Muskingum's defense this season. Malone tallied career-highs in tackles (33), tackles for loss (4.5), and sacks (2.5) for the Muskies this year.

Burch, an interdisciplinary major, appeared in all 10 games for Muskingum's secondary this season. Burch led the Muskie defense with a team-high two interceptions, and he also tallied a career-high 37 tackles, and a career-high 3.7 tackles per game.

Malone and Burch were integral pieces to Muskingum's defense which helped bolster the team to its second straight five-win season. This marks the first time Muskingum has had back-to-back five-win campaigns since the 1995 and 1996 seasons.

As a result of their All-District nominations, Malone and Burch will move on to the CSC Academic All-America Ballot. The Academic All-America Team will be announced in December.
