Fulton highlights numerous postseason All-OAC honors

The Ohio Athletic Conference has announced that Muskingum junior linebacker Chaney Fulton was named the Gene Slaughter Co-Most Outstanding Linebacker.

Other Muskies receiving all-league honors were sophomore punter Samuel Green, sophomore defensive back Dorian Maynard, junior offensive lineman Sam Lucas, senior linebacker Damond Goggins and junior offensive lineman Christopher Hoffman.

Fulton, a first team all-league honoree, led the OAC with 97 tackles, which included 58 solo stops. He ranked third in the league in tackles for loss with 13 for 68 yards, ranked fifth in sacks with six and ranked 10th in fumbles recovered with two. Fulton also notched a career-best 16 tackles in Muskingum's game at Ohio Northern. Fulton is the third Muskie to be awarded the Linebacker of the Year honor (Alex Thomas 2011, Jack Junker 2006).

Green, a First Team All-OAC selection, led the league with his 39.9 punting average. He also placed a league-best 18 punts inside the 20 and booted a career-long punt of 76 yards in Muskingum's season-opening game at Waynesburg. Last year, Green was recognized with Second Team All-OAC honors.

Receiving Second Team All-OAC accolades were Maynard and Lucas.

Maynard led the league with five interceptions for 43 yards and one touchdown. He also ranked fifth in the conference in passes defended with eight. Overall, Maynard had 31 tackles, including two tackles for loss.

Lucas helped anchor the Muskie offensive line. He helped the Muskies average 201.9 yards rushing per outing and average 397.3 yards of total offense per game. Lucas garnered Honorable Mention All-OAC accolades in 2013.

Receiving Honorable Mention All-OAC was Goggins and Hoffman.

Goggins was second on the team with 86 tackles. He also added 2.5 tackles for loss, one interception and forced one fumble. Last year, Goggins was a second team all-league selection.

Hoffman helped anchor the offensive line. His play aided the Muskie offense that averaged 201.9 rushing yards per game and averaged 17.3 points per contest.
