Esports Playoff Recap (4/2 - 4/8)

The Muskingum Esports program finished with a 9-7 playoff record for the week of April 2 - April 8.

Monday, April 3

  • Muskingum's Super Smash Bros team fell 2-0 to UNC Greensboro in the opening round of the ECAC Playoffs. Muskingum dropped game one 5-0, and fell in game two 6-0.
  • Muskingum's Rainbow Six Siege red team fell via forfeit to Florida International. The forfeit counts as a 2-0 win for FIU.

Tuesday, April 4

  • The Muskingum Rainbow Siex Siege black team tallied a 2-1 win over Southern Maine on Tuesday. The Muskies won game one 7-4, fell in game two 8-7, and pulled out a decisive 8-6 win in game three to secure the playoff victory.

Wednesday, April 5

  • Muskingum's Overwatch team defeated SUNY Poly 3-1 on Wednesday to advance in the ECAC Playoffs. After falling 2-0 in game one, Muskingum rebounded for three straight victories to tally the 3-1 win.
  • The Muskingum Overwatch team fell 3-2 to Fanshawe in the second round of the ECAC Playoffs on Wednesday concluding their season.

Thursday, April 6

  • The Muskingum Halo team fell 3-0 to Kentucky in the opening round of the ECAC Playoffs. Muskingum fell 50-43 in game one, 4-1 in game two, and 5-0 in game three.
  • Madden Lawrence dropped their contest with SAGU 2-1 on Thursday. Lawrence won game one 35-14, but fell 36-29 in game two and 31-28 in game three.
  • Both Madden Atkins (Xbox) and Madden Salchli fell via forfeit on Thursday.
  • Madden Hively dominated Albion on Thursday to advance to the second round of the ECAC Playoffs. Hively cruised to victory with a 27-0 win in game one and a 31-0 win in game two.
  • Immediatly following his win, Madden Hively defeated Southeastern to move on to the third round of the ECAC Playoffs. Hively fell in game one 20-13, but bounced back for a 28-13 win in game two and a 21-0 shutout win in game three.
  • Madden Adams cruised to a 2-0 victory over Post. Adams won game one 32-3 and dominated game two 45-7 to advance in the playoffs.
  • In the second round, Adams defeated SAGU 2-1 to remain in title contention. Adams won game one 55-14, fell in game two 28-14, and won the decisive third contest 27-21 to advance.
  • Madden Crawford defeated Albany 2-0 to move on in the ECAC Playoffs. Crawford won game one 21-10 and advanced with a 21-0 win in game two.
  • Madden Crawford (Xbox) beat Carroll 2-0 on Thursday in the opening round of the ECAC Playoffs. Crawford won game one 42-14, and crusied to a 21-6 win in game two to secure the victory.

Sunday, April 9

  • The Muskingum Valorant black team picked up a 2-0 win over Penn St.-Behrend on Sunday. Muskingum won game one 13-3, then followed it up with a 16-14 win in overtime in game two.
