Baseball rolls past Franciscan

The Muskingum baseball team rolled past Franciscan in a dominating 15-5 performance that saw five Muskies come away with multiple hits in the contest.

Inside the Numbers

  • Muskingum scored 15 runs on 19 hits and had one error.
  • Sophomore Mike Davis logged a four hit day to lead the Muskies. Davis tallied two RBI's and scored twice.
  • Senior Quinten Collins had a two-run home run early in the contest to fuel the Muskies.
  • Junior Weston Melick put up three hits, three RBI's, and scored three runs.
  • Freshman Conner Thamann had a three hit day with two RBI's.
  • Freshman Grant Mellerson also had a three hit performance. Mellerson included two RBI's and one run scored.
  • Sophomore Sam Palmieri knocked two hits, one RBI, and scored three time.
  • Senior Wyatt Reeder, senior Ryan Schwartz, and junior Tobie Teke each had one hit.
  • Melick, Schwartz, Thamann, and Davis each had a double.

  • Five Muskies pitched in the contest to help keep the Franciscan offense at bay. Senior Jaxon Rinkes came away with the win after going four innings and striking out four batters.

  • The Muskies will be back in action on Sunday, March 24, when they travel to take on Wilmington for their OAC opener. The doubleheader is scheduled to start at 1:00 p.m.
