The Muskingum baseball team dropped a road non-conference matchup with Kenyon, 5-3.
The Basics
- Records: Muskingum (10-7 Overall), Kenyon (11-6 Overall)
- Location: McCloskey Field – Gambier, Ohio
The Difference
- After Kenyon scored three runs in the second inning and one in the fourth inning, the Muskies found the scoreboard for the first time in the sixth inning off a sacrifice fly from junior Dominic Gorence.
- Kenyon was able to answer right away in the sixth inning off a solo home run to push their lead back to 5-1.
- The Muskies made a late push in the eighth inning with solo homers from sophomore Drew Dittoe and sophomore Quinten Collins, but it wasn't enough as Kenyon held on for the 5-3 win.
Inside the Numbers
- The Muskies were led by sophomore Quinten Collins who finished 2-3 with a solo home run and a walk.
- Junior Allex Santacroce went 2-5 with a run scored, while sophomore Drew Dittoe went 1-2 with a solo homer.
- Sophomore Gavin Hawk, senior Trey Yoder, and sophomore Andy Eurez each collected a hit for the Muskies as well.
- Sophomore Noah Moser got the start on the mound for Muskingum. Moser pitched three innings and gave up three earned runs.
- Freshman Austin Lippolis, sophomore Cade Burton, sophomore Liam Carey, and senior Drew Eaches each pitched in relief for the Muskies.
