Baseball ready to Strikeout ALS

The Muskingum baseball program and John Carroll will team together to Strikeout ALS when the Muskies and Blue Streaks play on Saturday, April 23 in University Heights at 1:00 p.m.

Both teams will wear wristbands to help promote awareness and raise money for the Pete Frates #3 Fund, ALS research and other effected ALS members.

A former captain of the Boston College baseball team and professional baseball player in Europe, Pete Frates was diagnosed with ALS in March of 2012, at the age of 27.

Since his diagnosis, Pete has enjoyed the strength and support of his family and new bride, Julie. Pete and Julie were married in June of 2013, and together they, as well as his whole family, have taken an active role in raising awareness and funds for ALS research.

The Strikeout ALS campaign is designed to raise awareness of ALS and the National ALS Registry during collegiate baseball games across the country. The campaign includes a variety of game day activities focused on ALS and also brings attention to the largest ALS research program, the National ALS Registry.
