The Muskingum baseball team swept Wilmington to open Ohio Athletic Conference play on Saturday. The Muskies won the opener 6-5 in 10 innings and took the nightcap, 16-4.

Game One
- Junior Dallas Allen delivered a bases loaded game-winning RBI single with no outs in the bottom of the 10th to score senior Christian Leitenberger from third to lift Muskingum to the 6-5 extra-inning win.
- The Muskies scored six runs on 11 hits.
- Wilmington scored four runs in the top of the first to grab the early lead.
- Muskingum tallied one in the bottom of the first and second and added three runs in the third to take a 5-4 lead.
- Wilmington tied the game with a run n the sixth.
- Sophomore Eddie Harper led the team with a three-run triple.
- Leitenberger went 4-for-5 with a triple, RBI and run scored.
- Junior Matt Lynn had an RBI single.
- Freshman Darien Smith started the game and went eight innings and allowed five runs on five hits. He notched seven strikeouts.
- Junior Brandon Bush (2-0) earned the win in relief after tossing two innings and allowing three hits.
- The Quakers scored five runs on eight hits.
- Wilmington was paced by Gage Bley who had two RBIs.
- Antonio Miller also added a pair of hits with an RBI and run scored.
- Billy Foster (0-2) suffered the loss in relief after allowing one run on one hit in two innings of work.
- Corey Walker started the game and went seven innings and allowed five unearned runs on eight hits.
Game Two
- Muskingum erupted for 16 runs on 17 hits to complete the league-opening sweep.
- Sophomore Vayden Wood went 3-for-6 with four RBIs and a double.
- Junior Joe Shumar went 3-for-6 with three RBIs and two runs scored.
- Allen went 3-for-5 with two RBIs and two runs.
- Sophomore Seth Casto went 3-for-4 with a triple, RBI and two runs.
- Freshman Marc Ibarra logged a pair of RBIs.
- Freshman Evan Hinds (4-0) pitched eight innings and allowed four runs (three earned) on 10 hits to garner the win.
- Wilmington scored four runs on 12 hits.
- Jarrett Trautman (1-3) was handed the loss after lasting 1.2 innings and allowing six runs on four hits.
- Daniel Hayes led the Quakers at the plate going 3-for-4 with one RBI.
