Zapata and Hunt named SAAC Muskies of the Month

The Muskingum Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) has announced that sophomore wrestler Antonio Zapata and volleyball senior Katie Hunt have been named the SAAC Muskies of the Month for November.

Zapata posted a 4-1 record and finished second in the 197-pound weight class at the Washington and Jefferson Tournament. He ranks second on the team in takedowns and escapes.

Hunt led the Muskies to the Ohio Athletic Conference Volleyball Tournament and ended the year with a team-best 322 kills. She also registered 75 blocks, 83 digs, 25 service aces and 24 assists. Hunt concluded her Muskie career ranked fifth all-time in kills at Muskingum with 1,026.

SAAC Muskies of the Month nominees are nominated by Muskingum coaches and voted on by SAAC representatives from Muskingum's 21 varsity sports.

The mission of SAAC is to enhance the total student-athlete experience by promoting opportunity and communication between the student-athletes and athletics administration, protecting student-athlete welfare, and fostering a positive student-athlete image on campus and in the New Concord community. SAAC representatives have dedicated themselves to helping and promoting their fellow student-athletes, Muskingum and the community. Their efforts have helped to enhance a tradition of involvement by Muskingum student-athletes.
