Warrington and Zapata lead Muskies at John Summa

The freshmen tandem of Toby Warrington and Antonio Zapata led the Muskingum wrestling team at the Baldwin Wallace John Summa Memorial Tournament on Saturday. The duo each finished fourth in their weight classes. 

The Basics

  • Muskingum placed eighth in the 11-team field at the tournament with a score of 42.5 points.
  • Brockport claimed the team title with 156.5 points.

On the Mat

  • Freshman Toby Warrington placed fourth in the 133-pound weight class. He recorded a 3-2 record that included two wins by decision and one by fall at the 6:55 mark. 
  • Zapata finished fourth in the 285-pound bracket. After dropping his opening match, Zapata racked up five straight wins before he slipped in the third-place bout to end the event with a 5-2 record. He narrowly missed out on the tournament's quickest pin award with his fall at 0:38. The award went to James Roberts from Brockport who notched a fall in 23 seconds.
