19th-ranked Baldwin Wallace defeats Women’s Basketball

The Muskingum women's basketball team dropped its OAC road contest to 19th-ranked Baldwin Wallace on Saturday afternoon.

  • The Muskies are in the hunt for an OAC Tournament bid that is reserved for the top six teams at the end of the regular season. Muskingum is one game back of sixth place, which Capital and Wilmington currently hold.
  • The contest marked the last regular season road game for Muskingum for the 2022-23 campaign.

Inside the Numbers

  • Sophomore Caitlyn DeMassimo paced the Muskingum offense with a game-high 12 points, grabbed a team-high six rebounds, and dished out a team-high three assists.
  • Junior Taylor DeMassimo tallied 10 points, grabbed four rebounds, and recorded two blocks.
  • Freshman Tori Jones recorded seven points and three rebounds coming off the bench for Muskingum, while freshman Lizzy Allen chipped in four points and notched a team-high three steals. 
  • Baldwin Wallace was led by Bella Vaillant with 11 points, six rebounds, and four assists. 
  • As a team, Muskingum shot 17-of-50 (34.0%) from the field, while Baldwin Wallace finished 28-of-55 (50.9%) from the floor.
  • Muskingum hit 6-of-18 (33.3%) from beyond the arc, while the Yellow Jackets shot 12-of-26 (46.2%) from three-point range.
  • Baldwin Wallace controlled the boards holding a 38-23 advantage in rebounds, and the Yellow Jackets also finished with a 28-18 edge in points in the paint.
