Muskingum Cheer finishes Fourth at NCA College Cheerleading Nationals

The Muskingum University Cheer team finished fourth in the Game Day open Division at the National Cheerleading Association (NCA) College Cheerleading Nationals in Daytona, Florida.

Notables

  • The Muskingum Game Day squad, which features athletes from its sideline and STUNT programs placed fourth out of a seven-team field.
  • Navarro College won the team title.
  • This marks the second year the squad has competed at Nationals. The team showed significant improvement moving up eight places from their 12th place finish from last year.
  • The goal of the Gameday Division is to offer a championship level competitive event which showcases only skills and routines which can be safely used in a gameday atmosphere, and promotes crowd involvement and response, while enhancing the genuine spirit of a sporting event.
  • The team will attend NCA camp this summer in Louisville, Ky. with hopes of qualifying for Nationals.
