Men’s Lacrosse stumbles vs. Otterbein

The Muskingum men's lacrosse team dropped a home OAC contest against Otterbein 13-8 on Friday afternoon.

The Basics

How it Happened

  • Using a hot start, Otterbein jumped out to a 4-1 advantage after the first quarter.
  • Not looking back, the Cardinals outscored Muskingum 5-1 in the second period to open up a 9-2 lead heading into the halftime break.
  • In the third quarter, Muskingum fought back, outscoring Otterbein 3-2 in the third frame.
  • Muskingum continued to chip away, outscoring the Cardinals 3-2 in the fourth quarter, but it wasn't enough as Otterbein held on for the 13-8 win.

Inside the Numbers

  • Muskingum was led by junior Spencer Zecchini who tallied four goals and one assist. Zecchini also grabbed three ground balls for the Muskies.
  • Senior Maxwell Pezzot, senior Griffin Holiga, junior Jack Watts, and junior Hunter McGuire all tallied one goal each for Muskingum. Pezzot also dished out one assists and scooped up two ground balls.
  • Sophomore Drew Schneider tallied a team-high nine grounds balls, while junior Blake Turano and freshman Tyler Workman each added three.
  • Junior Trevor Connolly tallied 12 saves in net for Muskingum.
  • Otterbein was led by Nathan Lewis, Nick Wile, Aidan Moore, and Max Graham with two goals each.
