Despite a second half rally, the Muskingum men's lacrosse team fell in a close 7-6 contest on Military Heroes Night.

  • The contest was promoted as Military Heroes Night sponsored by Muskingum's Kappa Sigma chapter. The Kappa Sigma Military Heroes Campaign is committed to supporting ongoing care for our military veterans and their families.
  • The contest was game two of a lacrosse doubleheader. Muskingum's women's lacrosse team hosted Saint Vincent prior to the men's game.

How It Happened

  • Saint Vincent got out to a hot start, leading 2-0 after the first quarter.
  • Muskingum managed to tally a goal in the second quarter, but still trailed 4-1 heading into the halftime break.
  • In the third quarter, Saint Vincent outscored Muskingum 3-2 to carry a 7-3 lead into the final frame. Muskingum scored the first two goals of the quarter to draw within one, but Saint Vincent answered back with three straight goals of their own.
  • The fourth quarter was controlled by Muskingum, who tallied all three goals in the frame. Despite holding Saint Vincent scoreless in the quarter, Muskingum couldn't draw even in the final minutes as their comeback bid came up short.

Inside the Numbers

  • Muskingum was led by senior Maxwell Pezzot who tallied two goals and one ground ball.
  • Junior Hunter McGuire also registered two goals for the Muskies, while sophomore Drew Schneider registered one goal and four grand balls.
  • Freshman Chipper Iacobucci registered his first career goal for Muskingum, while junior Trevor Connolly notched 14 saves in net.
  • Saint Vincent was led by Caleb Hawkins with three goals, while Noah Sperling tallied five saves.
