Timberlake named OAC Freshman of the Year for Women’s Cross Country

The Ohio Athletic Conference has named Muskingum freshman Rachel Timberlake the Women's Cross Country Freshman of the Year. She is the first women's cross country runner in Muskingum history to earn this prestigious honor.

Timberlake had quite the showing in her first year as a Muskie runner. She captured six top 10 finishes of the seven races she completed. At the OAC Championships, she was the first Muskingum runner to earn All-OAC Second Team accolades after placing 10th, finishing with a time of 22:37.3. She then became the second Muskie to tab All-Great Lake Regions honors after placing 22nd with a time of 23:01.7 at the NCAA Division III Women's Cross Country Regional. Other top 10 finishes this season were first at the Muskingum 4K Invitational (15:47.21 time), third at the Bethany Invitational (23:34 time), fifth at the All-Ohio Championships (22:51.2 time), eighth at the Heidelberg Tiffleberg Open (23:34.1 time), and eighth at the Wilmington JennaStrong 5K Invitational (19:03.0 time).
