Volleyball receives votes in AVCA Division III Top 25 Poll

The Muskingum volleyball team received votes (28 points) in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association Top 25 Poll released on Tuesday. The AVCA Division III Top 25 Poll is selected by Division III head coaches representing the eight NCAA regions.

The Muskies are off to a 9-1 start this season after finishing 2-1 at the ONU Invitational last weekend. Muskingum defeated Earlham and Denison in straight sets, and dropped their first match of the season in a five-set thriller to Wisconsin-Oshkosh. 

As a team, Muskingum has totaled 403 kills, 358 assists, 525 digs, and 62 blocks on the season thus far. In their 10 matches, Muskingum has only dropped four sets in total, and they have won eight of their matches in straight sets. Muskingum currently averages 12.21 kills per set, 10.58 assists per set, 15.91 digs per set, and 1.86 blocks per set.

The Muskies are led by senior Emma Conrad * who has dished out a team-high 292 assists this year. Conrad has also contributed 47 kills, 84 digs, 19 blocks, and has a .385 hitting percentage.

Junior Khloe Taylor has had a solid start to the season posting a team-high 96 kills, while junior Lexie Huck * has totaled 75 kills and 21 digs. 

Senior Emma Dunham is making her presence felt in the front row. Dunham has 63 kills on the season, and she also carries a .311 hitting percentage as well.

The Muskies are back in action on Wednesday, September 21, when they travel to Ohio Wesleyan for a nonconference matchup. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
