Women's track & field and McAdams honored for Academic Excellence by USTFCCCA

The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) has announced that the Muskingum women's track & field team received All-Academic Team honors for the 2020-21 NCAA Division III Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field seasons. Furthermore, senior Macy McAdams was named an NCAA Division III All-Academic Athlete.

The Muskies excelled in the classroom and ended the academic year with a team GPA of 3.41. To receive the distinction of an All-Academic Team, a program must achieve a GPA of 3.0 or higher for the year. The Muskies are led by Director of Track & Field Operations Jake Gleason and Head Coach Ashley Shaffer.

McAdams, Muskingum's Ohio Athletic Conference Clyde Lamb Award female honoree, is an art education major and is the school record holder in the distance medley relay, 3K and 5K. McAdams has been honored as a President's list recipient for eight semesters.

The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) is a non-profit professional organization representing cross country and track & field coaches of all levels. The organization represents thousands of coaching members encompassing NCAA track & field programs (DI, DII, and DIII) and includes members representing the NAIA and NJCAA, as well as a number of state high school coaches associations. The USTFCCCA serves as an advocate for cross country and track & field coaches, providing a leadership structure to assist the needs of a diverse membership, serving as a lobbyist for coaches' interests, and working as a liaison between the various stakeholders in the sports of cross country and track & field.
