Women's tennis serves up big win against Mount Union

The Muskingum women's tennis team served up a big Ohio Athletic Conference win against Mount Union on Sunday afternoon, 6-3.

  • Muskingum grabbed the early momentum by sweeping first, second and third doubles.
  • The Muskie first doubles tandem of junior Gracie Andrews and senior Sarah Ann Hafner rallied from three points down to beat Abby Franks and Emma Thorton, 9-8 (7-4).
  • Muskingum's second doubles squad of freshman Scarlett Martell and sophomore Amanda Plaskett won 8-6 against Sydney Scotford and Jenna Hinkle.
  • The Muskie third doubles team of junior Jane Boyer and junior Evelyn Pauquette delivered an 8-2 win against Marissa Scobee and Jenna Reppart.
  • Hafner continued her strong play in singles action en route to a 6-1, 6-3 triumph against Franks at first singles.
  • Pauquette won at fourth singles in a three-set thriller 3-6, 7-5, 10-6 against Hinkle.
  • Plaskett capped off the Muskie surge with a dominating 6-1, 6-2 victory against Scobee at fifth singles.
