Women's tennis aces rival Marietta to conclude its fall season

The Muskingum women's tennis team concluded its fall season with a 6-3 triumph against rival Marietta on Tuesday afternoon. With the win, Muskingum will ride the momentum of a 4-4 fall campaign into the spring season.

The Muskies trailed 2-1 following doubles action. The Muskies first doubles tandem of junior Gracie Andrews and freshman Sarah Ann Hafner secured the first point of the match with an 8-3 win at first doubles against Ashton Binegar and Anne Thompson. 

Muskingum dominated singles play by winning five-of-six matches to surge past the Pioneers.

Hafner won at first singles against Thompson 6-0, 6-0, and Andrews dispatched Binegar at second singles, 6-2, 6-1.

Junior Evelyn Pauquette won 6-4, 6-1 at fourth singles against Payton Brinks, and sophomore Amanda Plaskett registered a 6-4, 6-3 win against Abigail Hartshorn.

Junior Jane Boyer rounded out the strong Muskie effort with a 6-3, 6-3 win against Parkar Mauk at sixth singles.
