Women's Tennis looks to have competitive spring season

The Muskingum women's tennis team, under the direction of head coach Bridget Barrett, looks to have a competitive spring season. The Muskies return seven players from their fall season, which includes juniors Kayla Hall and Emma Lewis and freshmen Gracie Andrews, Kaylee Anstaett, Emma Bachman, McKinzie Buckmaster, and Evelyn Pauquette.

In the fall, the Muskingum women's tennis team earned their first victory of the 2019 season and a first career win for head coach Bridget Barrett as they beat Waynesburg, 5-4. This victory marked the first win for the Muskingum women's tennis team since 2016. The Muskies also defeated Miami-Hamilton in the fall, 7-2. This triumph marked the first time since 2012 that the Muskingum women's tennis team had secured two consecutive victories.

The Muskies kick off their spring season in Orlando where they play a total of six matches against both non-conference and conference opponents. The Muskies will play from Sunday, March 1 to Thursday, March 5.

The match schedule is as follows:

  • Sunday, March 1 - vs. Ohio Northern at 5:00 PM (T D9-12 S9-14)
  • Monday, March 2 - vs. Midway at 12:00 PM
  • Monday, March 2 - vs. Wartburg at 6:30 PM (T D15-18 S15-20)
  • Tuesday, March 3 - vs. John Carroll at 6:30 PM (T 15-18 S15-20) 
  • Wednesday, March 4 - vs. St. Vincent at 8:00 AM (T D9-12 S9-14)
  • Thursday, March 5 - vs. Kings College at 8:00 AM (T D9-12 S9-14) 

All of the bolded matches will be played at the USTA National Tennis Center and will feature live video that can be accessed here. To find the live video use the court location and number attached to each event. All other matches will be played at Lake Cane.
