The Muskingum women's tennis team lost at Alma on Saturday, 9-0.
The Scots seized control of the match by sweeping first, second and third doubles. Alma used the early momentum to claim all six singles matches en route to the win.
Sophomore Mackenzie Simmons provided a spark for the Muskies at third singles. Simmons fell in a tight match against Alexis Hereza 6-4, 6-1. Freshman Sara Welsh dropped a competitive first singles match against Brooke Butterfield 6-3, 6-2.
Muskingum next plays at John Carroll on Saturday, March 23. Match time is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. and marks the Ohio Athletic Conference opener for the Muskies.
