Women's tennis battles rival Marietta

The Muskingum women's tennis team dropped a battle against Ohio Athletic Conference foe Marietta on Wednesday afternoon, 9-0. Prior to the match Muskingum recognized seniors Kristen Chandler, Sydney McDaniel and Manda Gaeckle

Marietta grabbed the early momentum by winning first, second and third doubles. The Muskie freshmen third-double tandem of Alivia Bates and Emily Yeager pushed the Marietta duo of Reagan Haas and Liz Reed but fell, 8-1.

In singles action, Chandler provided solid play at first although lost 6-0, 6-1 against Victoria Xie.

Muskingum returns to action on Saturday, April 21 against Ohio Northern and Heidelberg. The Muskies will play the Polar Bears at 9:00 a.m. and the Student Princes at 11:00 a.m. The matches will be played at the Linder Family Tennis Center in Mason, Ohio.
