Women’s Soccer drops match against Case Western

The Muskingum women's soccer team dropped their home match against 15th-ranked Case Western, 5-1 on Saturday afternoon.

The Basics

  • Records: Muskingum (2-3-3), Case Western (7-0-0)

How it Happened 

  • The Spartans racked up three first-half goals to take a 3-0 advantage at the break.
  • Muskingum used an offensive push in the opening two minutes of the second half to force a corner kick, which led to the Muskies scoring their lone goal of the contest. The goal came from Hannah Ritchie who scored off the opportunity. 
  • Case Western added two more goals in the second half to pull away from Muskingum and take the 5-1 victory.

 Inside the Numbers

  • Freshman Hannah Ritchie led the Muskie attack with one goal.
  • Seniors Skyllar Strong and Monique Reil each tallied one shot to round out the Muskie scoring effort.
  • Junior goalkeeper Kelly Buck secured 10 saves in 90 minutes of work between the pipes for Muskingum.
  • Case Western was led by Samantha Cramin who had two goals.
