Women's Soccer announces postseason team awards

The Muskingum women's soccer team has announced postseason awards for four outstanding student-athletes.

Junior goalkeeper and captain Katie Bodenmiller was honored with the Most Valuable Player Award. She started in 18 games for the Muskies this season between the pipes and ended the year with a career-high 125 saves, four shutouts, and one assist. Bodenmiller was also recognized with OAC Women's Soccer Player of the Week accolades for her excellent play in goal. During her Muskie career, she played in 46 games and has amassed 347 career saves.

Senior midfielder and captain Abigail Wagner was recognized with the Muskie Award, which honors hustle, team spirit, determination, and attitude. Wagner started in 17 games, scored two goals, and notched two assists to help control the midfield this year. Throughout her tenure, she was a two-time team captain, played in 69 games, scored four career goals, and registered eight assists.

Senior defender and captain Julia Prokopchak was awarded the Most Dedicated Returner Award. Prokopchak played in 11 games this season and helped anchor the backline leading to four shutouts on the year. Throughout her career, she played in 65 games for the Muskies, was a two-time team captain, and a three-time Academic All-OAC Honor Roll honoree.

Freshman defender Monique Reil was honored with the Rookie of the Year Award. Reil played in every game this season and recorded two assists during her freshman campaign to help lead the Muskie backline.
