Women's Soccer falls to Earlham in season opener

The Muskingum women's soccer team fell short in their season opener at Earlham on Friday afternoon, 2-0. 

The Basics

  • Records: Muskingum (0-1), Earlham (1-0)

The Breakdown

  • Earlham jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the fourth minute with a goal from Nicole Burkett
  • Earlham was able to strike again early in the first half with a goal from Eva Lyon in the 26th minute.
  • Goalkeeper Mel Johnson got her first clean sheet on the year for Earlham while making six saves on the night.
  • Junior Mary Double led the Muskies with four shots, three on goal.
  • Sophomore Britney Golden, freshman Kalyn Davis, sophomore Maddie Wirtley, and freshman Sheridyn Woofter all added one strike. 
  • Junior Katie Bodenmiller recorded four saves while playing all 90 minutes in net for the Muskies.
  • The Muskies and Quakers each logged four corner kicks.
