Women's Soccer earns United Soccer Coaches prestigious award

The Muskingum women's soccer team was one of only 19 men's or women's collegiate soccer programs across the nation to be honored by the United Soccer Coaches with the prestigious Ethics/Sportsmanship Gold Award for 2018.

Muskingum, under the guidance of Head Coach Mary Beth Caudill, who also serves on the Executive Board of the Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association as the immediate Past President, has been honored with the United Soccer Coaches Team Ethics/Sportsmanship Award in 17 of the last 20 years. The Gold Award spans across all National Collegiate Athletic Association divisions (NCAA), all National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics divisions (NAIA) and all National Junior College Athletic Association divisions (NJCAA). To be recognized with the Gold Award, a team can receive no red cards and a negligible percentage of yellow cards during the season.

Earlier this year, Muskingum was also recognized for its academic excellence in the classroom by being honored with the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for the 20th time. College Team Academic Award recipients are active members of the United Soccer Coaches College Services Program and must have a composite grade point average of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale for all players on the roster.
