Women's Soccer announces postseason player awards

Muskingum Head Coach Mary Beth Caudill has announced postseason awards presented to four Muskie women's soccer student-athletes.

Freshman defender Britney Golden was honored with the Rookie of the Year Award and the Most Valuable Player Award. She started every game and ended the season with five goals and three assists. Golden was recognized for her outstanding play this season by the Ohio Athletic Conference by being named Honorable Mention All-OAC and by garnering OAC Women's Soccer Player of the Week accolades.

Junior midfielder and captain Abigail Wagner and senior goalie Heather Maxwell were recognized with the Most Dedicated Returner Award. Wagner started every game and notched one goal and two assists. Throughout Wagner's career, she has played in 52 games and registered two goals and six assists. Maxwell played in 11 games between the pipes and recorded 28 saves. In Maxwell's career, she saw action in 31 games and made 89 saves.

Senior defender and captain Rachael Waite was recognized with the Muskie Award, which honors hustle, team spirit and dedication. Waite helped anchor the backline en route to aiding in three shutout wins. Over the course of her tenure, Waite played in 65 games and had one goal and two assists. The OAC recognized Waite's excellence on the field and in the classroom by honoring her with the OAC Scholar-Athlete of the Month Award in September.
