Edwards and Poulos place at the Baldwin Wallace Invitational

Muskingum wrestling sophomore Robert Edwards Jr. and junior Zeke Poulos placed 3rd and 8th in their respective classes at the Baldwin Wallace Invitational.

Edwards placed 3rd in his class of 285, and Poulos placed 8th in his class of 174. The Muskies finished 9th out of 13 teams, scoring a total of 37 team points. Baldwin Wallace won the event with a team score of 191.5.

On the Mat

  • Sophomore Robert Edwards Jr. led the Muskies with a third-place finish in his weight class of 285 at the Baldwin Wallace Invitational. Edwards went 4-1 on the day and tallied 10 team points. In his first match, he won by a pin over Vincent Park of West Liberty. In match 2, Edwards won by pin over Zak Dillingham of Thiel. Edwards then won by decision over Jonah McCoy of St. Vincent College, 7-2. In the fourth match, Edwards won again by decision over Matthew Caldwell of Penn State Behrend, 6-3. In the semi-final match, Bode Brown of Albion won by a major decision, giving Edwards a third-place finish.
  • Junior Zeke Poulos finished 8th in his weight class of 174. He went 3-3 on the day, tallying 3 points. Poulos won by a major decision over Anthony Joiner of Thiel, 16-3. He had a technical fall loss to Levi Abbot and a major decision loss to Noland Rowley. He bounced back with 2 straight wins over Lane Gibson, of Trine, and Magnus Lloyd. He ended his day with a major decision loss to Louka Babic of Case Western Reserve.
