The John Carroll Blue Streaks zapped the Muskingum wrestling team in its home opener on Tuesday night, 43-0.
With the loss, Muskingum slips to 0-2 overall and 0-2 in the OAC. John Carroll moves to 8-2 overall and 2-0 in the league.
Muskingum senior Sammy Southers, junior Garrett Mitchel, and freshman Noah DeHainaut led the squad on the mat. Southers dropped a hard-fought battle in the 133-pound weight class against Max Turner in the waning seconds of the third period, 6-5. Mitchel fell in his 197-pound match against Matthew Ferraro, 6-2. DeHainaut concluded the bout with a 6-3 loss against Josh Stasek in the heavyweight division.
The Muskies next compete at the Ohio Northern Invitational on Saturday, December 7.
