Wrestling start new season strong at W&J

The Muskingum wrestling team started off with a strong showing at the Washington and Jefferson Invite with several players placing in their weight classes on Saturday.

The Basics

  • Location: Washington and Jefferson College - Henry Center

On The Mat

  • The Muskies were led senior Sammy Southers, who placed sixth in the 133 weight class going 4-2 on the day. Southers recorded two pins and a technical fall.
  • In the 197 weight class, junior Garrett Mitchel placed sixth going 3-2 with a pin and two wins by decision.
  • Freshman Tanner Donathan went 3-2 in the 149 weight class with two pins and earning his first career college victories.
  • Freshman Noah DeHainaut competed in the 285 weight class and earned his first career win with a pin.

What's Next

  • The Muskies travel to Cleveland when they compete in the Case Western Invite on Saturday, November 16. The event is set to begin at 10:00 a.m.
