Women's Lacrosse celebrates Senior Night

The Muskingum women's lacrosse team celebrated Senior Night against Marietta on Wednesday night. The Muskies recognized senior Emily Jackson prior to the start of the game.

Notables

  • First-year Riley Hudock ended the year setting the school records for points in a season with 48 (41 goals, 7 assists) and caused turnovers with 27. Hudock ranked third in goals in a season with 41, tied for sixth in assists with seven, second in draw controls with 60 and seventh in ground balls with 42. 
  • First-year Anneliese Mercuri ended the campaign ranked second in ground balls in a season with 55 and third in caused turnovers with 25.
  • First-year Megan Lang completed her first year tied for sixth in assists in a season with seven.
  • First-year Kennedy Norch ended the year with 35 draw controls which are tied for eighth in a season.
  • First-year Riley Zwagerman had 33 draw controls to rank tied for 10th in a season.
  • The Muskies ended the year with 166 draw controls - narrowly missing the school record of 168 established in 2019.

How it Happened

  • Marietta grabbed the early momentum with a 7-1 surge in the opening quarter.
  • The Pioneers outscored the Muskies 6-2 in the second frame to take a 13-3 advantage into the break.

Inside the Numbers

  • Muskingum finished the outing with 24 shots and 15 ground balls. The Muskies also caused six turnovers.
  • Zwagerman led the team with three goals on four shots. She also added three draw controls.
  • Hudock ended the contest with one goal, six draw controls, and three caused turnovers.
  • First-year Haley Clifton added one goal and one assist to round out the Muskie scoring effort.
  • Sophomore Cailin Wise played all 60 minutes in goal and made 13 saves.
  • Marietta ended the game with 41 shots and 22 ground balls.
  • Hope Adams led the Pioneers with five goals.
