The Muskingum women's lacrosse team fell at Hiram on Wednesday night, 20-13.

Inside the Numbers 

  • Sophomore Carly Spitz led the Muskies with a five-goal, three-assist outburst. Spitz's five goals tied her career-best that she had last year against Waynesburg. 
  • Muskingum sophomore McKenzie Fuller registered a career-high four goals and snared a team-high four ground balls.
  • Freshman Sara Woods recorded a career-best three goals.
  • Muskie freshman Shelby O'Donnell played all 60 minutes in frame and made seven saves.
  • Tayler Hall led Hiram with seven goals and one assist. 
  • Sophia Leuma added four goals for the Terriers.
  • Hiram ended the contest with a 38-28 edge in shots and 21-12 advantage in ground balls.

How it Happened 

  • Hiram scored the opening three goals before the Muskies charged back to tie the game at 3-3 at the 22-minute mark.
  • The Terriers answered the Muskie surge with seven unanswered goals to take a 10-3 lead with seven minutes to play.
  • Muskingum scored the final three goals of the half to enter the break down 10-6.
  • In the second half, the Muskies pulled within two on two occasions but a late 6-1 surge by Hiram secured the home win.
