Crisp, Fuller, Spitz, Clifton named women's lacrosse captains

Muskingum head coach Taylor Graf has announced the selection of captains for the 2020 season. Senior Dani Crisp, sophomore McKenzie Fuller, sophomore Carly Spitz, and sophomore Jacie Clifton will direct the Muskies during their 2020 spring campaign.

Crisp, a returning captain, has played in 30 games and registered 24 starts. Last season, she finished second on the team in goals (17) and third in points (20). Crisp also grabbed 19 ground balls, secured 29 draw controls, and caused six turnovers.

Last season, Fuller started all 16 games for the Muskies. Fuller grabbed 25 ground balls, caused nine turnovers, and dished out four goals. She also broke Muskingum's school record for most draw controls in a season (65), which included notching a career-best 12 draw controls against Waynesburg.

Spitz started all 16 games for the Muskies. She registered a career-best 16 goals and dished out a team-high 11 assists. Spitz also notched 18 ground balls, grabbed 35 draw controls, and caused seven turnovers. In her first season, Spitz broke the school record for assists in a game (4) and assists in a season (11). She was also coined the OAC Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week for her tremendous play against Wayesnburg and Hiram.

Clifton started 14 games and finished the season with 17 ground balls and seven caused turnovers.

Muskingum opens up the season on Saturday, February 22 at the North Athletic Turf Field when the Saint Vincent Bearcats come to town. The start time is slated for 1:00 p.m. The Muskies begin conference play on Saturday, March 21 when they host the John Carroll Blue Streaks for an OAC showdown. The game is set for 1:00 p.m.
