Bice named Muskingum STUNT head coach

The Muskingum University Athletic Department has announced the hiring of Joelle Bice as Muskingum's first-ever STUNT head coach.

Bice has over 15 years of coaching and mentoring student-athletes in gymnastics, stunting, cheerleading, and dance and has previously worked as a Universal Cheerleading Association Instructor. She holds U.S. All Star Federation (USASF) Safety Certified Tumbling Levels 1-5 and USASF Safety Certified Stunting Levels 1-5.

"I'm excited to welcome Joelle to the Muskie family," said Vice President and Athletic Director Steve Brockelbank. "I'm looking forward to Joelle building the Muskingum STUNT program and the impact she will have on our female student-athletes."

Bice, an alumna of Muskingum, is the owner and CEO of Champion Athletics in Zanesville, where she is an all-star tumbling and stunt coach for teams levels 1-4. Additionally, she teaches choreograph routines and facilitates camps for multiple school districts. Bice also serves as the Zanesville High School varsity cheerleading coach and is a former Americheer cheerleading and Ameridance dance judge for local and national events.

"I am beyond grateful to Muskingum for the opportunity to coach and grow the sport of STUNT," said Bice. "As an alumna, I know first-hand how amazing this University is, and I cannot wait to provide my student-athletes with the same incredible experience I have had."

Bice graduated from Muskingum in 2010 with a B.A. in speech communication and earned her MAT from Muskingum as an intervention specialist in 2019.

Muskingum will be the only school in the Ohio Athletic Conference to offer STUNT and one of the few schools in Ohio to field a team. STUNT will begin as a club sport and transition to a varsity sport starting in the fall of 2021.
