Softball defeats Otterbein to stay alive in OAC Tournament 

The Muskingum softball team defeated Otterbein in game four of the Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament on Saturday night, 9-2.

The Basics

  • Records: Muskingum (31-11), Otterbein (23-13)
  • Location: ONU Softball Field – Ada, Ohio

How it Happened

  • Muskingum used a pair of doubles from Kalie Eshelman and Mickayla Malone to plate three runs in the fourth. 
  • Otterbein went on to plate their two runs trimming down the Muskie lead to one. Muskingum held a 3-2 advantage after four innings.
  • With bases loaded and one out, the Cardinals look to add more runs, but back-to-back swinging strikeouts from Hannah Smith spoiled the rally.
  • Muskingum erupted on six runs off six hits in the sixth to stretch the lead, to 9-2.
  • Muskingum secured a 9-2 victory.
