The Muskingum softball team defeated Otterbein in game four of the Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament on Saturday night, 9-2.

How it Happened

• Muskingum used a pair of doubles from Kalie Eshelman and Mickayla Malone to plate three runs in the fourth. 
• Otterbein went on to plate their two runs trimming down the Muskie lead to one. Muskingum held a 3-2 advantage after four innings.
• With bases loaded and one out, the Cardinals look to add more runs, but back-to-back swinging strikeouts from Hannah Smith spoiled the rally.
• Muskingum erupted on six runs off six hits in the sixth to stretch the lead, to 9-2.
• Muskingum secured a 9-2 victory. 

Inside the Numbers

• Muskingum finished with nine runs on 11 hits. 
• Senior Hannah Smith pitched a complete game, firing seven strikeouts.
• Junior Claire Warschauer finished with one hit and three RBIs.
• Senior Katie Osburn and junior Mickayla Malone finished with one hit and two RBIs.
• Sophomore Kalie Eshelman went 2-for-4 with an RBI
• Freshman Lynsey Dudley added an RBI to the Muskie scoring effort.
• Junior Taylor Gallentine, freshman Megan Alspaugh, senior Cristianna Boggs, and junior Carlee Lamacz added one hit apiece to pace the Muskie bats.

• Muskingum takes on Mount Union in game five of the Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament on Sunday, May 8, with the winner taking on the host Ohio Northern. Game time is slated for 10 AM.
