The Muskingum softball team has announced its upcoming schedule for the 2020 season.

The Muskies will kick off their spring campaign at The Spring Games Tournament in Kissimmee, Florida. The tournament will begin on Monday, March 2, and run through Friday, March 6. Within these five days, the Muskies will play a total of 12 games and face some fierce competition to gear up for the bulk of their season.

The Muskies will then take a trip to Greencastle, Indiana, to battle DePauw and Trine on Saturday, March 14.

Muskingum will play a total of 10 home games, 18 away games, and 12 neutral site games.

Muskingum hosts Wittenberg for its season home opener on Wednesday, March 18. Game time is slated for 3:30 p.m. The Muskies begin Ohio Athletic Conference play on Saturday, March 21, when the John Carroll Blue Streaks come to the Donna J. Newberry Field for an OAC doubleheader. Game time is slated for 1:00 p.m.

Notable home games include:

• All home games will be played at the Donna J. Newberry Field.
• The Muskies hosts Wittenberg for its season home opener on Wednesday, March 18.
• Muskingum hosts the defending OAC Tournament Champions Otterbein University on Saturday, April 18, for Senior Day. Game one of the doubleheader is slated for 1:00 p.m.

Notable away games include:

• The Muskingum softball team competes against DePauw and also battle the 2019 Regional Champions Trine on Saturday, March 14.
• Muskingum travels to Berea to battle Baldwin Wallace on Saturday, March 28. Game one is slated for 1:00 p.m.
• The Muskies travel to Ada to go head-to-head with Ohio Northern on Friday, April 10. The start time is set for 1:00 p.m.

Last season, the Muskies finished 31-11 overall with a 15-3 slate in the OAC. The Muskies won the OAC Regular-Season Championship for the first time since 2014 and the 20th time overall (the OAC began recognizing regular-season titles in 1995). The Muskies also secured the top seed in the OAC Tournament for the 16th time in school history and hosted the conference tournament. Muskingum's stellar play was recognized on the national level by receiving votes in the NFCA Top 25 Poll for seven weeks, including being ranked as high as 25th.
