Men's Tennis battles Waynesburg

The Muskingum men's tennis team battled Waynesburg on Saturday afternoon. The Yellow Jackets handed the Muskies an 8-1 setback.

Waynesburg swept the doubles action to grab a quick 3-0 lead. The Muskies best chance came at third doubles where the senior tandem of Micah Keith and Caleb Patton suffered a tough 8-7 heartbreak against Brian Drake and Tanner McKnight.

In singles play, sophomore Armando DiMichaelangelo earned his first career collegiate win with a 6-4, 5-7, 10-5 triumph at third singles against Joe English. Keith lost in a three-set thriller at fourth singles against Conor Cassidy 1-6, 7-5, 10-7. Patton also lost a close 6-3, 5-7, 10-5 contest at fifth singles against Drake.

Muskingum next hosts Thomas More on Wednesday, October 3, at 5:00 p.m. The match will be played at Zanesville High School.
