Men’s Soccer primed for breakout 2022 campaign

The Muskingum men's soccer team, under the direction of four-time Big Ten Conference Coach of the Year,  John Bluem, will look to make big strides this fall. With nine returning letterwinners, and a hard-working incoming class, the Muskies are primed for a breakout 2022 campaign.

The Muskies will look upon senior defender Thomas Rooney, senior forward Edwin Palou, senior defender Hunter Foley, and senior midfielder Dilpreet Sandhu to lead the charge this upcoming season.

Rooney started 15 games anchoring the Muskie backline and logged in an assist last season. Palou played in 16 games and logged in a career-best three goals and two assists, well Sandhu played in nine games.

Adding more depth and talent to the Muskies will be junior midfielder Mahfuz Yakubu, junior midfielder Abdikani Mohamed, junior forward David Carlson, junior defender Morgan McKenna, and junior defender Ryan Watson.

Muskingum opens their season at home on Thursday, September 1, when they battle Carnegie Mellon at the North Athletic Turf Field. Game time is slated for 7:00 p.m. The Muskies begin OAC play on Saturday, October 1, when they host Heidelberg.

All home games will feature live video and live stats on the Muskie Sports Network and can be accessed on fightingmuskies.com or the OAC TV app.
