Men's golf finishes fifth at Pioneer Classic

The Muskingum men's golf team finished fifth in the seven-team field of the Pioneer Classic hosted by Marietta on Sunday-Monday.

On the Course

  • Muskingum shot a 645 (318-327), while team winner NCAA Division II Ohio Valley shot a 605 (304-301).
  • Senior Jacob Van Leeuwen led the Muskies with a 153 (74-79) to finish tied for sixth in the 43-golfer field.
  • Sophomore Thomas Green and junior Christian Taylor finished tied for 22nd with each shooting a 165.
  • Junior Josh Blaustein tied for 24th with a 166.
  • Junior Gordie German finished tied for 37th with a 173.
  • Zack Forker of Ohio Valley won medalist honors with a 148 (75-73).
  • The event was held at Lakeside Golf Course (par 70) in Beverly, Ohio.
