Men’s Basketball falls at W&J

The Muskingum men's basketball team dropped a road non-conference matchup with Washington & Jefferson 75-52 on Thursday night. The Muskies will be back in action on Saturday, November 19, when they travel to La Roche for a 2:00 p.m. contest.

The Basics

Inside the Numbers

  • The Muskies were led by freshman Logan Stotzer with 10 points and two steals.
  • Sophomore DJ Donnell added eight points and four rebounds, while sophomore Zaveon Croff finished with seven points and five boards.
  • Senior Noah Begue chipped in five points and a team-high tying six rebounds, while sophomore Zachary Chatmon finished with four points and six boards.
  • Sophomore Landen Russell and Freshman Duane Davis both finished with four points each for the Muskies as well.
  • The Presidents were led by J.R. Mazza and Brandon Jakiela with 12 points each.
  • Isiah Lanston also got into double figures with 10 points, while Kyran Mitchell finished with six rebounds, assists, and steals; which were all game-highs.
  • As a team, Muskingum finished 19-of-63 (30.2%) from the floor, while W&J shot 26-of-63 (41.3%).
  • Both teams shot a combined 4-for-38 (10.5%) from three-point range.
  • The Presidents forced 32 Muskingum turnovers and converted those into 38 points off turnovers, while W&J coughed up the ball 17 times which translated to six points for Muskingum.
  • The Presidents held a commanding 46-28 advantage in points in the paint. However, Muskingum held a slim 44-42 edge in the rebounding battle.
  • W&J saw their bench contribute 41 points, while Muskingum's bench finished with 22 points on the night.
