Ousley named AFCA First Team All-America

Muskingum senior standout defensive lineman Tim Ousley was honored for his stellar play this season by being named American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Division III First Team All-America.

Ousley, who was earlier named First Team All-Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) and recognized with the Paul Hoernemann Award for being named the top defensive lineman in the OAC, led the Muskies in tackles with a career-high 80 and was ranked second in the OAC in sacks (10 for 60 yards) and tackles-for-loss (14.5 for 67 yards). Ousley finished his Muskie tenure ranked first all-time at Muskingum in sacks with 28 and ranked eighth all-time in career tackles with 263.

Ousley becomes Muskingum's first All-American since linebacker Chaney Fulton in 2014 and Muskingum's first defensive line All-American since Kevin Woods in 1986.

The AFCA has selected an All-America team every year since 1945. The AFCA's Division III All-America Selection Committee is made up of head coaches representing each conference from each of the AFCA's eight districts, one of whom serves as a district chairman, along with another head coach who serves as the chairman of the selection committee. The coaches in each district are responsible for ranking the top players in their respective districts prior to a conference call between the district chairmen and the committee chairman on which the team is chosen.
