Crawford cruises to second ECAC Madden National Championship

Senior Doug Crawford capped off a dominant 2022 fall season with a 3-1 win over Randolph-Macon to claim his second ECAC Madden National Championship. This is the fourth ECAC National Championship for the Muskingum Esports program in the past three years.

Against the Yellow Jackets in the best-of-five championship round, Crawford got out to a hot start with a 21-3 win in game one. Not looking back, Crawford shut out his opponent 21-0 in game two to take a commanding 2-0 lead. After Randolph-Macon claimed game three by a score of 26-21, Crawford completed his victory with a 21-7 win in game four.

Crawford finishes the 2022 fall season with an 11-1 overall record, and he also tallied a 32-7 record for individual games this season. Crawford's second title ties him for the most by an individual team in program history, equaling the mark set by Fortnite duo Kesten Taylor and Tre Boger when they won back-to-back National Championships in 2020 and 2021. Crawford will look to defend his title during the 2023 spring season.
