Bilski announced as new esports head coach

The Muskingum University Athletic Department has announced the hiring of Christopher Bilski as the new esports head coach.

Bilski arrives in New Concord with in-depth knowledge and experience from the esports world. He most recently served as head League of Legends coach at Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, Michigan. While with Aquinas College, he helped lead the Saints to first-place in the Great Lakes Esports Conference (GLEC). As a coach, Bilski coordinated scrimmages with other colleges and developed practice plans for both individual players and the team as a whole. He also crafted pregame scouting reports and analyzed performances after matches.

"I'm excited to welcome Christopher to the Muskie family," said Vice President and Athletic Director Steve Brockelbank. "His experience and passion for esports will have a positive impact on our student-athletes and help build the Muskingum esports program."

"Joining the Fighting Muskies is a dream position for me," said Bilski. "Having attended a similar institution, I am appreciative of the unique opportunities and experiences a place like Muskingum University can provide to students. With my coaching experience and background in the esports industry, I am eager to engage and connect students through esports with opportunities to grow as individuals and as teammates."

Bilski has also worked as a freelance esports journalist for the past five years, working with a variety of multiple media outlets, including The Players' Lobby, Ginx.TV, The Game Haus, and CLICKON Esports. He has created engaging content based on current events, game analysis, and future outlooks for multiple esports titles. Additionally, he has traveled to numerous live events across the country and has published over 300 articles, as well as content for  YouTube, Twitch, and TV interviews.

The Muskingum esports team just completed its inaugural season in the GLEC. The Muskies competed in League of Legends, Rocket League, Overwatch, and Counter-Strike.
