Michael Jacob joined the Muskingum baseball program in the summer of 2023 as pitching coach and recruiting coordinator.

Jacob was a four-year letterman and standout pitcher for the University of Toledo baseball program. Toledo competes at the NCAA Division I level in the Mid-American Conference (MAC). Jacob ranks fourth all-time in the Rockets' record book in single-season appearances with 25 and single-season saves with eight. In his four years at Toledo, Jacob struck out 192 batters throughout 231.1 career innings while also amassing 14 career saves, which ranks fifth all-time at Toledo. He also led the team in strikeouts with 71 during the 2019 campaign. Jacob helped lead the Rockets to MAC Tournament appearances for three straight seasons.

Before arriving in New Concord, Jacob spent the previous three seasons as the pitching coach for St. Clairsville High School. During his time with the Red Devils, Jacob helped guide St. Clairsville to OHSAA playoff appearances each year, coaching multiple all-district players. He was also the head JV coach during his time at St Clairsville.

A native of St Clairsville, Ohio, Jacob graduated from Toledo in 2019, where he double majored with a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in professional sales and finance.
