Coach Holycross and McClung honored by USA Archery

Muskingum archery Head Coach Craig Holycross and sophomore Remington McClung were honored by USA Archery. Coach Holycross was named USA Archery's North Region Coach of the Year, and McClung was named USA Archery's All-American Academic Team.

Holycross is in his second year at the helm of Muskingum's archery program. Muskingum is the only school in the Ohio Athletic Conference to field an archery team and one of the only NCAA schools in the state to offer archery as a varsity sport. Muskingum debuted archery during the 2020-21 campaign and hosts events at the new archery facility located at Moorehead Farm. Regional Coaches of the Year are selected by showing tireless dedication to the sport, and their archers have seen success in the classroom and on the archery field. Coach Holycross now advances to the USA Archery National Coach of the Year ballot.

McClung, an early childhood and education major, is Muskingum's first Academic All-American in the archery program. To be named Academic All-American, USA Archery takes the top 25% (ranked by score) of each division and class from the U.S. National Indoor Championships. Archers in the top 25% and who meet the minimum GPA (3.5) earn a spot on the team.
