Ellyson and Dempsey honored with OAC Clyde Lamb award

Senior women's soccer forward/track & field athlete Emily Ellyson and senior men's basketball guard Marcus Dempsey were honored with the Ohio Athletic Conference Clyde Lamb Award. Criteria for the award include at least two years of participation in an OAC-sponsored sport, senior status, a minimum grade point average of 3.00, and sportsmanlike conduct in a manner that has brought credit to the student-athlete and his or her institution. 

Ellyson, a mathematics major, is an Academic All-OAC honoree and a member of Kappa Mu Epsilon (mathematics honorary) and Kappa Delta Pi (education honorary). Ellyson was a two-time All-OAC honoree and is the school record holder for the indoor high jump. She serves as a campus tour guide and as a math tutor at John Glenn High School. 

Dempsey, a business management major, was named the Academic All-American of the Year for Division III men's basketball and is a two-time Academic All-American (First Team 2019-20, Third Team 2017-18). He's a three-time All-OAC selection and was named the OAC Freshman of the Year and the D3hoops.com Great Lakes Region Rookie of the Year. Twice in his career, he was honored with U.S. Basketball Writers Association Division III National Men's Player of the Week accolades. Dempsey ended his tenure as Muskingum's all-time leading scorer with 2,118 points and set the school record for points in a season (764) and free throws made in a season (195).
